As of the evening of April 1, 2011, there will be no pedestrian access through the Court of Flags (from Hill Street to Broadway). However, the Metro (Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority) Civic Center Station Plaza will remain open for those accessing the subway. The revised "Parking and Freeway Map" and "Pedestrian Map" are attached for your information and will be posted on the Grand Park website at www.grandpark.lacounty.gov.
The Notice to Proceed was issued to Grand Avenue Park Development, LLC, the developer, on March 18, 2011, which means the process of installing barricades and erecting fences has begun, in preparation for construction. This is the same process used in the County Mall area (Blocks 1 and 2) and the surface parking lot south of the Foltz Courthouse (Block 4).
There may be temporary delays, detours, and changes to bus services, so please contact your public transportation provider for service updates.
